Hi, I’m Kristen Ashton from Brisbane, Australia and these are my photos. I do live music photography, portraits, weddings and am available for hire. This is my blog where I post everything I’ve shot recently, although I don’t really tend to write much, I like to let the photos speak for themselves.

My Advice
Just getting into photography and want some advice? The number one thing I can say is: trial and error. Just give it a go and see what works. Pay attention to your settings, if it’s not working, adjust and try again. Dial up, dial down, just play with it to see what works. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I’m not a technical person, if you ask me why I used a particular setting it’s because that’s just what I thought looked best at the time. I guess, I adjust, I press random buttons that I don’t know the name of, I go from there. Works for me.
Second best piece of advice is to buy the best and fastest lens you can afford. Start with a 50mm f1.8 (it’s cheap and awesome), learn how to use that and then go from there.
